We recently met with Yasir Naqvi, Member of Parliament for Ottawa Centre, to discuss ways the government could improve the processing and handling of sponsorships for Afghan refugees in service of its goal to bring 40,000 Afghan refugees to Canada. Our suggestions for improving the process are set out in a letter in a subsequent letter sent to Mr. Naqvi in late August 2022. Read our recommendations here.
